This role is ideal for someone who is looking to further their leadership and technical skills, while having the freedom to grow the division as they see fit while working collaboratively with McElhanney business leaders from disciplines as diverse as transportation planning and design, geomatics, hydrotechnical, geotechnical, marine structures, construction supervision, alternative project delivery, municipal engineering, landscape architecture, environmental and more. The Bridge Division Manager based in Vancouver will also operate alongside our established bridge engineering practices on Vancouver Island and in Alberta, sharing expertise and staffing as needed to thrive as Western Canada’sACEconsultant:A mazing our clients,C aring for our communities, andE mpowering our people. We are seeking an experienced Professional Engineer with excellent leadership abilities and solid technical skills focused on leading the pursuit and delivery of bridge projects, including the design, rehabilitation, seismic retrofit, and / or evaluation of municipal, highway, transit, and pedestrian bridge structures. The successful candidate is a leader who possesses aversatile skill setencompassingpeople management and coaching, business acumen, and financial expertise , essential for navigating the complexities of our industry. Deadline to Apply: June 3, 2024 8:59pm PTWhat You'll Be Doing:Directly reporting to the Branch Manager Vancouver Engineering, you will:Leaddiverse projects: envision and manage technical, logistical, and financial aspects and oversee engineering design from proposal stage through to commissioning of the work Hire, retain, coach and mentor staff fostering a positive, and an engaged culture Facilitate continuous learning and professional development of team members Collaborate with branches across the region and company to support local projects Assist the Branch Manager in business development, workload balancing, staffing, equipment, safety, quality, and financial outcomes Develop new business opportunities and establish strategic relationships with key clients, agencies, and partners Represent McElhanney to the external environment including clients, businesses, and professional associations to enhance McElhanney’s positive public profile. Serve as a senior technical leader for bridge engineering across the company as part of our Technical Service Group program What You'll Bring: Degreein Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university with strong technical skills and 15+ years of related technical experience Registration in good standing as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia or ability to obtain registration through existing inter-jurisdictional agreements Strong interpersonal skills: able to complement an already strong team with humility, curiosity, and a service mindset Aptitude for leadership, continuous learning, knowledge sharing and relationship building Ability to prioritize, delegate responsibilities, and motivate others to produce high-level results Demonstrated sound business development skills and project management skills: a proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships through reliably executing project tasks in accordance with well documented plans What Can We Offer You?The salary range for this position is$140,000 - $170,000per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
