Job Description
Hawks Transportation is looking for an experienced dispatch head to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for booking freight from Loadboard and other external sources covering to/from USA and east Canada. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in brokerage, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to think strategically.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the transportation of goods for clients, ensuring timely delivery and efficient logistics operations.
- Assist with load planning and scheduling.
- Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments, monitor inventory levels, and optimize routes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth execution of shipping and receiving processes.
- Conduct data entry and maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking numbers, delivery dates, and customer information.
- Analyze supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Communicate with clients, carriers, and vendors to resolve any issues or concerns related to transportation logistics.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance with transportation laws and regulations.
- Must be able to book loads from load board or open market to cover loads in USA and Canada.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Broker or in transportation logistics is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of 3PL (third-party logistics) operations and freight management.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments and their progress through the system.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients, carriers, and vendors.
EXPERIENCE: MUST have minimum 3 to 5 years experience
