As the Director, Strategy & Business Operations, you will drive business transformation by enabling responsible and impactful adoption of data, analytics and AI with strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication, collaboration, problem solving and stakeholder management. Reporting to the Chief Insights and Analytics Officer, you will work closely with subject matter experts and leaders - managers, Directors and senior executives across TELUS to ensure continuous alignment while driving higher data and AI engagement and outcomes. You will partner with teams across Business teams to deliver on TELUS-wide development, adoption and monetization of data analytics and AI solutions. We are entrepreneurial, fun and passionate. What you'll do Lead and Inspire Manage high-performing team members and managers, fostering an environment of curiosity, innovation and collaboration. Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and innovation, encouraging team members to stay ahead of the curve in the fast-changing technology and industry landscape. Strategic Planning & Investment Management Lead the annual strategy & business planning exercise and drive decision making in alignment with all stakeholders, ensuring TELUS is future-ready both strategically and technologically. Secure and manage funding for the Data & AI teams and programs in collaboration with Finance, Capital Management and business units ensuring maximum impact, value and ROI. Manage business KPIs on a monthly basis ensuring capex, opex and value delivery are on track to achieve targets and take proactive measures as necessary. Communication, Storytelling & Reporting Responsible for development and management of scorecards and reporting to corporate teams and senior leaderships ensuring success against strategic objectives. Drive compelling narratives that effectively communicate the successes, learnings and future impact of data and AI solutions across the organization through diverse channels and media. Deliver impactful presentations for ELT audiences, including the CEO and the Board, translating complex technical concepts into clear and actionable insights and story. Product Centricity  Drive maturity in the data ecosystem by facilitating the development of sustainable and responsible data and AI strategies and products for business units across TELUS. Assess and identify re-usability of data driven strategies, insights, processes and products across all business units within the organization and/or externally to TELUS customers. Upskilling & Education Champion Champion education and outreach initiatives to elevate data and AI literacy across TELUS by designing upskilling programs, with internal and external stakeholders, that equip employees with the necessary future skills. Act as a subject matter expert for both internal and external stakeholders, providing insights and guidance on AI advancements. Stakeholder Management Position the Strategy & Business operations team as a front door for business units by seamlessly facilitating collaboration on high impact initiatives related to data, analytics & AI/GenAI solutions Cultivate and manage relationships across business units and other functions for continuous alignment on strategic, operational and financial aspects, which is critical for success. What you bring Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills Proven track record in developing data-driven strategies for business growth Effective decision-making and leadership abilities Superior business acumen, problem-solving skills, and strategic understanding Agility in dealing with ambiguity and complex concepts Passion for innovation, education, and continuous learning Great-to-haves: A university degree, over 10 years in strategy, business development or consulting experience; an MBA preferred Extensive experience in technology centric industries.
