Be our next Director, Solid Waste Management Engineering!
As the Director, you will play an active role in growing the waste management group, and be responsible for planning, directing, and managing design and environmental approval projects in the municipal and private sectors.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Working with the senior management team to expand the business.
- Provide business development, technical direction, and oversight to expand EXP’s market share in solid waste facilities design and operation in Ontario, across Canada, and international.
- Participate in strategic and tactical planning activities, and the development of strategic positioning collaborating with other EXP’s national office engineering disciplines.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Develop, lead, and manage project teams and support the waste management planning group.
- Lead and manage multi-disciplinary projects for design, permitting, operations support, detailed design, construction management and inspection, and environmental studies.
- Assist in hiring and supervising staff.
- Manage or support projects in Ontario, nationally and internationally.
- Support our Arctic engineering team.
- Manage clients and subcontractors.
- Collaborate across various regions and business service lines in EXP to advance projects intended to support and grow the solid waste market sector.
- Using your current client experience to assist in the growth of the department, prepare proposals, and pursue new clients and opportunities.
What your experience looks like
- Licensed as a P. Eng in Ontario (PEO) or ability to become one upon joining EXP, (additional Alberta (APEGA) and or BC (EGBC) also an asset).
- A minimum of 10 years of practical solid waste management consulting experience including relevant experience in various facets of the solid waste management sector.
- Experience in a business development role.
- Proven experience and expertise in landfill engineering design and operations, and also an asset to have expertise in waste transfer and processing facility operation and design, environmental approvals/compliance requirements, and waste management planning support.
- Ability to identify and manage implementation of practical, cost-effective solutions to client problems and issue resolution.
- Commitment to teamwork and is self-motivated, skilled at managing multiple projects on time and on budget.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, MS Project, etc.).
