About the Opportunity Reporting to the Vice President Operations the Director, Primary Health Care is accountable for providing the strategic and operational leadership to a variety of professional health care disciplines for specified community-based health teams, programs and services. The Director is responsible for providing operational leadership for an integrated approach to health promotion, disease prevention and chronic disease management that will enable integration of health care services as NSH evolves to a population health framework. Working with and influencing services and program changes in services that are encompassed by PHC (that is mental health, addictions, academic family medicine, community health, public health, ambulatory care and continuing care that is primary care in nature, emergency etc.) is critical. About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following: Baccalaureate degree from a health discipline/health science field. Masters Degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration or equivalent Masters Management Program A minimum of 7 years in a health care/primary care/community setting A minimum 5 to 7 year’s progressive leadership experience in management and administration in a health care/community setting, with evidence of financial and human resource management Experience in planning, coordinating, delivery and evaluation of Primary health care and community-based initiatives Demonstrated ability with business plan management, resource allocation and budget preparation Specific experience with strategic and operational planning and related management functions Knowledge of disease prevention, health promotion, chronic disease management, and population health A high level of judgement, group management skills, group facilitation skills, and an ability to effectively deal with a wide range of individuals, organizations and diverse cultures Ability to assess and anticipate future needs, potential problems, directions and development for all aspects of strategic, financial, operational and human resource management Demonstrated ability to work with family physicians and teams in building capacity Ability to develop and sustain coalition, alliances, and partnerships with the members of the health care sectors and external agencies Innovative systems thinking with solid understanding of clinical practice.
