Location: MWS Camps Montreal, McGill UniversityStart date: June 24 - August 3. There will be training days prior to the start of employment.Compensation: $250 per day, 6 week contractEstablished in 1983, MWS Student Camps has welcomed thousands of young people from more than 50 nations to our camps. From the beginning, we have strived to offer and operate innovative, vibrant, and exciting programmes. Our MWS Montreal Camp is centrally located at the McGill University allowing us access to so much the city has to offer and providing our students with a full language immersion experience.The Director of Teaching is responsible for the operation of the teaching programme at the MWS Montreal French and English Camps. This includes the safety and supervision of the teaching staff and students during the course of the camp. For this reason the head of teaching must have open communication with respect to planning, discipline and any incidents which occur during the course of the teaching programme at the camps. Our students are divided into 3 sections: Junior 7-10, Intermediate 11-13, and Senior 14-17 and in the classroom, students are divided by age and language ability. In this position, you will work 6 hours a day (9am - 12pm, and 2pm-5pm) for 5 days of the week. (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - Saturday). This position reports to the Montreal Director.The responsibilities of the Teaching Director include the overall management and operation of the teaching staff and the students while in the classrooms. The Teaching Director communicates with the MWS office at all times and makes decisions as necessary to ensure the successful operation of the teaching programme.The Teaching Director’s duties will include but not limited to:Preparation of teaching staff during camp training sessions and pre-campSet up and organization of teacher's office and clean up at the end of the camp seasonGeneral planning of teaching programme, ensuring the teaching staff adhere to their role's expectations, and follow up to ensure the successful operation of their lessonsStudent testing and assignment of students to classes with assistance of teaching staffOrganization of student evaluations and certificatesStaff management of all teaching staff, including evaluation of teaching staffAccounting for the teaching programme including the submitting of hours worked for staff payrollsCommunication with the Camp Directors and MWS office regarding operation of teaching programme and liaison between teaching staff and MWS officeQualifications & Experience:BEd or MEd GraduateFluent in English or French with a strong level of otherExperience in a leadership role/managing a group of peopleExperience in organization, programming, and management of a classroom an assetEmerging curriculum experience an assetFluency in other languages is an asset but not requiredPlease email your cover letter and resume.
