Current Opportunity: Director of Product Marketing

Location: Toronto
Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: Hybrid or Remote depending on your proximity to our Toronto office.

What you will do:

The Director of Product Marketing is an essential role for the development and successful commercialisation of our products and services at WPO. This leader will be responsible for creating an in-depth understanding of:

  • Our buyers and their needs / desired value proposition
  • Our competitors and their target markets / value proposition
  • Our solutions and how we stack up to the competition
As a result of this in-depth knowledge, WPO will be able to better develop and commercialise our product lines in a way that drives revenue growth and a positive client experience. Ultimately, this role is accountable for the successful commercialisation and ongoing competitiveness of our solution in the marketplace. The successful Product Marketer sits at the intersection of the market and our solutions, using real world market evidence to inform our go-to-market, product development and sales strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a fact base across WPO's key markets and buying segments regarding the intensity and evolution of market needs.
  • Create a competitive view of WPO versus key competitors on the elements that truly matter to our buyers.
  • Recommend target buyers and market segments where WPO's product most effectively meets existing needs to drive high-ROI revenue growth
  • Identify future areas of market growth that, with the appropriate strategy and investment, will become the 'next wave' of growth buyers
  • Recommend changes to our products, services and value proposition that improves our revenue growth and the competitiveness of our product suites
  • Run the WPO commercialisation process from initial product launch through ongoing enhancement of our go-to-market activities
  • Develop initial launch strategies including what target buyers, geographic markets and price points are most advantageous to WPO
  • Play point for sales training for products, feature updates and the evolving value proposition
  • Serve as a liaison with the core marketing team regarding the promotion strategy of our products and services
  • Complete key marketing deliverables like product sheets, battle cards, etc.
  • Develop 'lessons learned' from performance data like win-loss analyses and client NPS data
  • Collaborate with WPO's General Manager, Sales, Account Management, Product Management and operational leaders to share market insights and develop a consensus around key investments and decisions

Qualifications/Skills:
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, product marketing, sales or product management.
  • Demonstrable experience launching and growing products and services.
  • Ability to work with key stakeholders across the organization to drive market awareness and insight.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in interpreting data to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Proven track record of positioning, planning, supporting and executing successful product launches.
  • Skills in finding creative, fresh ways to explain traditional ideas.
  • Strong focus for the end user, maximising their experience, and understanding their user problems and needs.
  • Experience working within pragmatic and agile marketing frameworks.
  • Experience working in the employee benefits and wellbeing market (preferred but not essential).
  • Knowledge of the global EAP marketplace (preferred but not essential).
