LCI Language School has campuses in Vancouver and Montreal. The Director of Operations will oversee the campuses and report to the President of Western Canada and Asia Pacific. Position Summary: The ideal candidate profile will be responsible for academic quality, operational effectiveness and growth of the campus. Accountable for quality professional education for students by leading the overall administrative and educational functions of the campus. Reporting to the President of Western Canada and Asia Pacific, the Director of Operations provides direction and implementation of the long-term strategic plan for the School. This includes identifying the needs of the School, setting out the future vision of the School; and setting short, medium and long-term objectives and strategies. Key Job Responsibilities: Provides leadership to the staff, faculty and students of LCI Language School Vancouver and Manager of Operations of LCI Language School Montreal. Instill a culture of leadership and ensures succession plans are developed and proactively managed to ensure a continuity of leadership on both campuses. In conjunction with the President of Western Canada and Asia Pacific, formulate and develop strategic operating objectives and is responsible for meeting those objectives. Continually evaluate methods of program delivery to ensure that it meets the needs of the community as well as applicable regulatory bodies. Promotes LCI’s mandate, and develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships with all agencies, organizations and institutions sharing common interests, including governmental organizations. Maintains a desirable, attractive and safe campus environment. Ensures facilities are well maintained. Assesses campus resources needs and ensures that the resources are planned for, acquired and properly implemented; provides input on utilization of resources. Provide insight into budget planning and budget monitoring/reporting. Perform other related duties, as assigned. Preferably 5 years or more progressively responsible leadership experience within postsecondary career or language education. Ability to successfully lead and interact with individuals from various areas including: business, academia, financial services, and regulatory agencies. Effective communication skills to lead others toward actions that result in the achievement of school objectives. Ability to resolve inquiries and complaints from employees, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Skills: Possesses superior verbal, written and listening skills; a skilled communicator who can build a team. Proven ability to build and nurture key networks. Works collaboratively with other departments. Exceptional problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills. Highly developed and proved leadership capability. Action and results oriented.
