Job Description

Stacey Danley at Aplin has partnered with our client, an award-winning Canadian brand with a head office in Winnipeg, on the search for a Director of Human Resources. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the successful candidate will lead a team of HR Managers and act as a subject matter expert on recruitment strategy and employee relations.

Responsibilities:
  • Working with the leadership team to understand company objectives, identifying areas of opportunity and implementing HR strategy
  • Designing, developing and executing best-practice initiatives for talent acquisition and employee relations
  • Providing senior-level advice and leading respectful workplace investigations
  • Providing strong leadership to the HR team through effective training, coaching and team-building
  • Working with the VP of HR to develop and manage business strategies, special projects and programs to ensure that organizational needs are met
  • Working with senior leaders to create a culture that supports company mission, values and vision
  • Developing and leading organizational development programs that support the performance and development of leaders
  • Collaborating with leaders to support business re-design and change management
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree, CPHR designation and/or other relevant post-secondary education
  • 5+ years of Human Resources management experience with previous experience directly leading a team
  • Demonstrated capacity to skillfully communicate with all levels of employees, influence outcomes and establish credibility as a skilled HR leader and business partner
  • Decisive, confident, resilient and able to deal with ambiguity
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines and respond to rapidly changing demands while ensuring efficient follow-up
  • Knowledge of various Labour Laws and Provincial Employment Standards across Canada
Please note this is a full-time permanent in-office position. Candidates will be required to work out of the Winnipeg office, with the occasional requirement to travel within Canada.
