Career Opportunity Director of Finance The Director of Finance will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s finance & accounting. As the most senior financial resource, the Director of Finance will be a key business partner and advisor to the executive team delivering timely and actionable information and robust analysis and metrics that support the day-to-day business and strategic decisions. This individual will work very closely with members of the management team and Directors of Sales and Operations to achieve revenue, cash flow and profitability growth targets. The Director of Finance will provide outstanding leadership and actively manage the financial and accounting matters of the company. Key functional responsibilities will include: financial and management reporting, control, treasury, financial planning and analysis, tax administration. You will also maintain the company's accounting systems and implement changes as required. This individual will be a trusted and highly valued confidant to the President to help drive and ensure growth in a capital-efficient fashion. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly and annual financial statements accurately and timely. Coordinate and oversee year-end audit for audited financial statements. Manage and control all GL activity for accuracy. Implement and manage internal controls for current and future business models. Handle cash management and company's insurance/risk management program. Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and team development. Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements and tax filings. Manage Financial Planning and Analysis, including budgeting and forecasting. Create sophisticated financial models for decision support to senior leadership. Advise business leadership on opportunities, risks, and propose solutions. Qualifications 7 years University or College degree Professional accounting designation Experience with US and Canadian GAAP Thorough knowledge of all relevant government requirements Working knowledge of Tax issues Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Energetic, outgoing, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and accounting initiatives Strong financial acumen and analytics able to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker Excellent judgement and creative problem solving skills Strong mentoring and coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise Computer literate, ability to adapt to and learn new software – outstanding Excel skills including financial modelling skills.
