KIT Recruitment is continuing our successful partnership with our client in the agricultural/farming industry, who is looking for a Director of Finance at their Mississauga location.
As the Director of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and driving the financial success of our organization. This senior leadership position is integral to overseeing financial operations and ensuring adherence to financial regulations within the dynamic landscape of agricultural commodities and supply chain business.
Director of Finance Details
- Monday thru Friday – ONSITE – 8am to 5pm
- 3 weeks vacation
- Salary: $165K - $190K*
- + Bonus

Director of Finance Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Create and implement financial strategies that fit the unique challenges and opportunities of the agriculture trading industry.
- Lead the yearly budgeting process, considering market changes and supply chain dynamics.
- Work with top management to make financial predictions that support the company's growth goals.
Trading Performance Analysis:
- Keep an eye on trading activities, looking at pricing trends, commodity risks, and market volatility to make informed decisions.
- Offer practical advice to improve trading strategies and increase profitability.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Stay updated on regulations related to agricultural trading to make sure the company follows industry standards and international trade laws.
- Develop and put in place risk management strategies to reduce exposure to commodity price changes and supply chain disruptions.
Financial Reporting and Insights:
- Prepare thorough financial reports, including P&L statements, trade volume analyses, and risk exposure assessments.
- Present financial data to top leadership, offering strategic advice that drives informed decision-making.
Cash Flow and Treasury Management:
- Manage cash flow cycles inherent to agricultural trading, optimizing liquidity while minimizing financial exposure.
- Put effective treasury management practices in place to navigate currency changes and optimize financial resources.
Leading a Team:
- Lead a team of finance professionals in a collaborative and solutions-focused environment.
- Empower team members to understand agricultural trading finance and contribute to its success.
Improving Processes and Innovating:
- Continuously evaluate financial processes, finding areas for improvement and implementing innovative solutions.
- Use technology and data analytics to make financial operations more efficient and accurate.
Collaborating with Stakeholders:
- Work across teams with trading, supply chain, and risk management to align financial strategies with business operations.
- Engage with external partners, such as farmers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to build strong financial relationships.
Director of Finance Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Agricultural Economics,or a related field.
- CPA Designation / accreditation is required.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with a focus on agricultural trading, commodities, or related industries.
- Audit experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics software is required.
- A deep understanding of agricultural trading dynamics, including supply chain, commodity pricing, and market risk.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and risk assessment related to agricultural commodities.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations and their implications for agricultural trading.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a finance team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to convey financial insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Valid passport required.
