Job Description

On behalf of our client, Venor is recruiting for a Director of Finance.The client is a well established organization encompassing a diverse portfolio of companies across a number of industries.Reporting to the Chief Operating Office ; the Director of Finance is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership to the organization, ensuring excellence in financial, capital planning, treasury management, people management and planning, budget planning oversight and stewardship for all aspects of the company’s financial services.What you’ll be doing:Provide oversight and management to the Accounting Team, Underwriting, Risk Management, Procurement, Privacy and Compliance, Legal and Reporting and Analytics functionsEnsure the proper functioning of all systems and processes, making recommendations for improvement where necessary, overseeing all regulatory reporting requirements, and maintaining effective management of each portfolio of companiesProvide effective financial leadership, stewardship and counsel to the organization as it relates to ongoing capital generation, projects, proposals, business developments, business processes, and performance measurementsAnalyze the financial performance of the organization to maintain organizational focus on operational goals, budgets, and forecastsCritically evaluate new business initiatives, acquisitions and/or new service offerings to determine margin projections and overall return on investmentsOversee, guide and advance the organization’s reporting, data and; analysis capabilities with an aim of driving competitiveness, identifying opportunities, addressing challenges and optimizing our operations both internally and externally through data-driven insightsOversee and direct the financial team, maintaining optimal performance and recommending proper staffing and structure for our companyThe ideal candidate for this role will have a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance or accounting with a CPA designation, and a minimum of 5 years of experience leading and developing others in a similar progressive financial role. Equivalent education and experience will be considered. With their proven track record of success as a senior member of a management team, the successful candidate will possess demonstrated capabilities in executing strategy and overseeing financial and organizational management. The incumbent has a solid business acumen, a desire for career growth, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
