Role Overview

As the Director of Finance at GoodMorning.com, you will build and lead our financial, procurement, risk management, and real estate functions, ensuring they align seamlessly with our overarching business goals. This role demands a meticulous and visionary leader adept at steering the Finance organization toward operational excellence, optimizing financial performance, and maintaining rigorous financial controls across the business.

In this role, you will

  • Lead and develop strategic financial planning and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with company goals across the Finance, Risk Management, Procurement, and Real Estate functions.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage and control budgets effectively, enforcing efficient resource utilization and expenditure across departments.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, analyze market trends, manage risks, and incorporate strategies that align with procurement and real estate functions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and regulatory standards, staying updated on regulatory changes.
  • Maintain and negotiate banking relationships and financial agreements, enhancing corporate finance strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of financial systems and technology to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Act as a key financial advisor and maintain ownership of the company's assets and liabilities, providing financial and legal insights to ensure accurate representation and management of financial health to support decision-making.
  • Lead strategic initiatives, championing projects that drive organizational transformation and contribute significantly to GoodMorning.com’s strategic objectives and key results.

Our ideal candidate

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or another related field is essential.
  • CPA or equivalent accounting designation is mandatory.
  • Over ten years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or related fields, with a proven track record in senior finance roles.
  • At least five years of leadership experience in compliance and risk management, demonstrating a robust capability to identify, assess, and mitigate legal and financial risks.
  • Minimum five years of management experience in recruiting, coaching, and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and execution, with a strong ability to develop financial strategies.
  • Extensive experience in managing and overseeing the financial aspects of procurement, real estate, and risk management functions, ensuring cohesive financial oversight across these critical areas.
  • Experience in procurement, managing a procurement team, or  overseeing a procurement team. 

Skills to have

  • Profound knowledge of finance and accounting principles, in-depth understanding of legal and financial compliance, including laws, best practices, financial strategies, budget management, and detailed financial reporting and analysis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in investment, risk management, real estate functions, and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical skills for interpreting financial data, spotting trends, pinpointing challenges, and uncovering opportunities, coupled with a strong capacity for making informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Strategic thinking with a proven track record of contributing to company-wide strategy and making high-level operational decisions that drive organizational success.
  • Experienced in managing both financial and legal risks, ensuring comprehensive adherence to all pertinent regulations and standards to safeguard organizational integrity.
