As the VP Engineering you will play a key leadership role in driving Epochs Engineering efforts to meet our strategic goals. While we are a remote-first company, we do have co-working space in Kitchener-Waterloo and expect the VP, Engineering to spend time a few times a month.7+ years of progressive experience in engineering roles5+ years of experience in leadership positions overseeing complex engineering projects and teamsProven track record of successfully leading and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, driving high performance cultures, delivering results in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated excellence in building technical cultures with mission-driven urgency, quality and accountability across the entire life-cycle from planning, through development, and production support.Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the demonstrated ability to gather and analyze complex data to drive insights and decision-makingProficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with a strong ability to plan, execute, and monitor engineering projects, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with quality standardsThe ability to communicate highly technical subject matter in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiencesExperience working in a startup environment with a high level of comfort navigating ambiguity, adapting to change, and taking calculated risksDesire to still contribute to code baseFamiliarity with our tech: Python, Flask, React, AWS, Docker, GraphQLBonus points for experience in HR tech????What you will doYou will plan, scope, build and ship product alongside co-founders and founding product designed and engineering team Collaboratively set the technical direction for the engineering team.
