Director, Electrification Strategy
 

The Director, Electrification Strategy will play a critical part in developing top-notch products and services in a unique industry and at a rapidly growing organization. You will be part of leading a strategic program with new technology solutions, supply chain innovations, and service offerings for a rapidly evolving mobility sector with a high-visibility role at an organization at the forefront of this change. With electrification at the front edge of Element’s innovation strategy – you will have a front seat in creating our strategy and visibility with the highest levels of the organization.

In this key role for Element, we need someone who can formulate Element’s strategy to accelerate the electrification of fleets. Managing a team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to strategic product development, implementation of new capabilities across all of our geographies, conducting market research and analysis and responsible for coordination cross functional teams, this role is a key leadership role within our electrification team..

As the Director, Electrification Strategy, you will do all of this and more as you drive our design, development, and implementation of electrification initiatives, ultimately strengthening Element’s position in the EV and sustainability space.

A Day in the Life

Product Strategy & Business Results

  • Own, refine and enhance our global electrification strategy (EV & other capabilities) - gaining broad support for, and executing on a continuously evolving strategy and business plan to stand-up these capabilities, considering overall ambition, key stakeholders, resourcing, and timelines.
  • Engage with cross-functional leaders to embed electrification into their respective products and help them lead with innovation.
  • Partner with clients to understand current and future electrification needs and goals, while working to shape clients’ thinking around their own electrification strategy.
  • Partner with clients to understand key operational, reporting, analytical and strategic pain points and develop electrification solutions to help address.
  •  Hold accountability for the P&L for charging and other electrification related products including the fulfillment of business case expectations for any investments made.

Product Innovation

  • Provides objective consultative advice, expertise, and specialist knowledge with the aim of creating value, maximizing growth, or improving business performance across the enterprise.
  • Support development of Element’s knowledge base in the electrification sector to drive fact-based decision making and build credibility on the topic.
  • Contribute to internal Element communications around electrification strategy and research.
  • Perform market research and assess impact of new electrification initiatives across various stakeholders (e.g., OEMs, and charging partnerships), and on Element’s current business model.
  • Present analysis and findings to senior leadership team and work closely with cross-functional working team.
  • Develop regular reporting and read-out materials for senior leadership, EXE and Board of Director’s on progress related to decarbonization.
  • Partner with our global colleagues (Custom Fleet, Element MX) and collaborate with our global partners (Sumitomo, Arval) to develop products and solutions that address the global needs of our clients.
  • Primary business responsibility for any technology or other related investments made to support electrification products.

Requirements

  • BA/BSc in Business or Engineering Sciences or another similar field of advanced study; MBA preferred with at least 10+ years of work experience.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in product management strategy, including successful product launch, on-going achievement of product launch objectives.
  • Seasoned people leader with at least 5 years experience in direct people leadership in a matrix organization and demonstrated ability in influence management and collaborating within multiple levels across an organization.
  • Experience in the EV /Charging Infrastructure or energy management space, preferably in consulting / client advisory role preferred.
  • Exceptional collaborator – invokes confidence, trust and in turn, encourages accountability, partnership, and transparency.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in strategy development and execution, driving innovation/change to improve the business model.
  • Relationship management including internal and external clients and stakeholders is critical for success in this role.
  • Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, customers, and team members.
  • Strong process improvement skills and demonstrated ability to influence and optimize processes to drive, business synergies and productivity.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) General comfort level with emerging technologies

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in large account service management with a focus in Advisory Services, Fleet Management, Tech, or other similar industries.
  • Direct experience in a leadership role in the electrification, EV, or charging infrastructure space.
