Under the supervision of the CIO, the Senior Director, Software Development will:

  • Leading all software development activities for LOGISTEC companies, including outsourced and offshore resources.
  • Ensuring the implementation and consistency of software architecture, including systems integration and interfaces.
  • Evaluating technologies that could improve product development and proposing their implementation.
  • Ensuring the establishment and compliance of quality assurance for internally developed applications and applications configured and extended by LOGISTEC development resources.

Responsibilities

What does your day look like as a Senior Director, Software Development?

Management of the development resources for all LOGISTEC Companies.

  • Leading the development team to ensure work efficiency and optimization, as well as performance and professional development of the staff under their responsibility.
  • Selecting and leading third-party development resources (consultants, offshore, and near shores).

Management of Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Leading the processes and methodologies used by development resources, including coordination with the IT solutions team.
  • Acting as a mentor and leader in software development lifecycle management.
  • Selecting and adopting best practices for quality assurance as well as associated tools.
  • Ensuring software deployment in production environments, considering their impact on various stakeholders
  • Supervision of third-party service providers
  • Experience in ensuring that software developed follows best practices for IT Security

Qualifications

To succeed as a Senior Director, Software Development, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or any other relevant degree and experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in managing and developing a team of IT professionals.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience in the technology and software development industry.
  • Ability to manage contracts and relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, and take corrective action as needed.
  • Ability to manage offshore resources.
  • Ability to lead quality assurance and automation testing.
  • Played an active role in implementing agile/scrum processes.
  • Significant experience in application architecture.
  • Significant experience in integrating application systems.
  • Developing roadmaps and project plans considering resources (on time, on scope, on budget, on adhesion), ensuring interdependencies with other systems or applications.
  • Performing risk analysis and mitigation techniques.
  • Knowledge of project management tools, such as Jira, MS DevOps, MS Project, Smartsheet, or other project management, tracking, and performance indicator tools.
