It is open to candidates located anywhere inCanada. Travel within North America is required 2-4 times per year. A validpassport is necessary for the trip.Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Team Leadwill:Take ownership of the software development deliverables for a team of 5 to6 software engineers and QA analystsCollaborating with product management, translate product requirements intoinnovative, detailed technical designsPerform project management of the team’s software development tasks,estimating and tracking effort, managing risk to the projects andprojecting completion datesCo-ordinate software maintenance tasks assigned to the team – bug fixes,customer-driven feature development, etc.Assume management duties for the team – performance reviews, professionaldevelopment, vacation and expense approvals, etc.Promote QA and DevOps best practices to ensure a high level of quality andefficiencyWhat we are looking for:Minimum 6 years of experience in a software development roleMinimum 2 years of experience in a senior software developer, architect, orteam lead roleUniversity degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relatedfieldExperience programming with JAVA and related technologiesExperience building web-based user interfaces with JSP,HTML5/JavaScriptExperience with React and related frameworks an assetExperience working with Oracle or PostgreSQL and PL/SQL or equivalentexperience on a similar databaseExperience in Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence is an assetExpertise in software development methodologies and best practicesExperience with test automation and continuous integrationExperience in requirements analysis, design, and architectureExperience with both Windows and Linux platformsExperience working with remote teams across multiple diverse time zones anassetGood verbal and written communication skills in English are arequirementPositive attitude is a mustWhat we can offer:3 weeks’ vacation and 5 personal daysComprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits starting from your firstday of employmentEmployee stock ownership and RRSP/401k matching programsLifestyle rewardsRemote work and more!Salary: 110K – 120KAbout Harris:Harris is a leading provider of mission critical software to the public sectorin North America.
