Leading Real Estate Investment Trust seeking a talented Development Engineering Manager. Vaughan. $95K - $115KYour new companyOur client is a leading Real Estate Investment Trust with a deep history of development in both the commercial and residential building sectors. Their office in Vaughan is searching for a Development Engineering Manager who will assist in site and civil engineering design, budgeting, development approvals and permitting and tendering for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.Your new roleAs a Development Engineering Manager, you will:Complete technical and quality review of various site and offsite engineering drawings and documents such as functional servicing, traffic and storm water management reports to ensure compliance with OBC and engineering standards and practices;Assist in managing a team of consultants, including RFPs, budgets, and design review for development services (civil, electrical, landscaping etc.);Prepare and review conceptual and preliminary designs, and complete detailed site and offsite work cost estimates for various types of development projects;Assist the business units with the analysis of infrastructure impacts due to the intensification of our sites for mixed use developments;Provide strategic guidance on servicing design in early stages of proposed developments to future-proof sites;Assist business units and construction group in engaging utilities to provide service to sites (including hydro, gas, telecom, etc.);Identify servicing and other infrastructure related constraints and requirements;Assist with high-level planning of infrastructure requirements for large scale master-planned communities;Review City-wide and Secondary Plan level master servicing reports, EAs, and other studies for implications on development potential of affected sites;Liaise with municipalities, utilities, and other agencies to discuss proposed development applications, identify any potential issues related to development andReview and provide comment on legal agreements with focus on items related to engineering;Work with procurement and construction departments to review site and offsite tender packages including responding to RFI’s from potential bidders, analyzing bids post tender closing to support tender award, and completing variances on original budget;Keep abreast with engineering trends as well as new and innovative approaches within the industry that could be implemented to support the achievement of objectives;Offer ideas on how to continually improve internal processes.What you'll need to succeedBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent;Professional designation (P. Eng) required;5 – 10 years of Civil Engineering experience;Excellent knowledge of civil and stormwater management design, approvals and construction as applied to land development;Excellent oral and written communication skills and must possess the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of management within the company as well as outside the organization;Proficient in MS Word, Project, Excel, Bluebeam Revu, and AutoCAD;Ability to create an environment that can foster professionalism, technical excellence, accuracy and timeliness;Ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously, having regard for project requirements and deadlines;Ability to work independently.What you'll get in returnA very competitive compensation package is on offer, as well as the opportunity to join an esteemed organization with a deep history of success.
