Are you ready to make a difference in the heart of emergency response? We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic leader with a passion for community paramedicine and emergency response to be our next Deputy Chief of Community Programs and Emergency Management.

What You'll do:

  • Programming and Project Management: Develop programs and strategies to meet various program objectives and needs in collaboration with allied agencies.
  • Emergency Management: Maintain the County's Emergency Plan and the Business Continuity Planning for the organization, including conducting hazard, risk, and vulnerability studies.
  • Leadership and Coordination: Provide leadership and guidance to supervisory personnel regarding day-to-day operations of community programs, policies and procedures, labour relations, and interpretation of the Collective Agreement.
  • Budgetary Management & Reporting: Coordinate the completion of and maintain documentation required as a part of funding agreements and or performance standards with allied agencies.

  • You have a proven ability to manage teams, stakeholders and community engagement projects with a track record of achieving tangible improvements in community health.
  • You have excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, along with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • You have a bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field.
  • You have a minimum of five (5) years of progressive management experience in the EMS system, with at least two (2) years at a middle or senior management level.
  • A Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CMEC) certification is considered an asset.
