Senior Demand Planner Role
The Senior Demand Planner is responsible for applying extensive knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and best practices in the Demand Planning process. He/she will be responsible for all forecasting activities associated with all products, creating and maintaining forecasting models utilizing business intelligence and forecast data gathered from ERP System at various intervals and will be accountable for monitoring performance of the process and continuous improvement in output, accuracy, and bias.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, prepare, analyze and validate forecast data; review historical sales trends, research demand drivers
- Summarize, aggregate and evaluate forecast results; develop statistical forecast models
- Proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods; understanding of financial and operational impacts
- Analyze and review daily/weekly/monthly/yearly reports and identify inventory imbalances while controlling inventory levels at warehouses
- Prepare and present reports, charts, and tables detailing market factors to help inform the product department identify strategies for new launches
- Research historical data to map trends and determine how they will influence the business
- Ensure that replenishment system variables are accurate to drive correct purchase orders and manage inventory
- Manage supplier lead-time for replenishment items based on supply chain performance
- Manage Key accounts requirements and maintain consistent supply
- Measure forecast error (MAPE & BIASE) on an ongoing base and take the required corrective actions to keep demand and supply always balanced
- Routinely examine methodologies to find ways of improving predictive accuracy
- Obsolete inventory analysis and root cause analysis
- Work with team for automation acting as subject matter expert (SME)
Successful candidates will have
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields - Economics, Data Analysis, Statistics or Finance
- APICS or other forecasting Certification, an asset
- Analytical skills and Mathematical skills required
- Demonstrated understanding of replenishment and inventory strategy, a must
- Computer skills - Advanced Excel, a must. Knowledge of SQL/R/Python/Power Bi, an asset
- Capacity of supervising a team is an asset
