Job Description
CareRx is actively seeking a highly experienced and committed Database Administrator (DBA) to manage a portfolio of applications and various integrations, architect Data Warehouse. This position plays a pivotal role in constructing an innovative, adaptable, and scalable IT function to drive our business forward. We require a multifaceted professional who is proficient in executing different data applications and processes, enabling and streamlining coordination between our Data Warehouse and multiple integrated systems. The successful candidate will be a critical contributor to expanding our IT capabilities and will play a vital role in helping our company optimize data solutions and operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of our MS SQL, PostgreSQL and other databases.
- Monitor and improve database performance and capacity proactively, anticipate and prevent any potential database issues for data accuracy and security.
- Utilize extensive experience with Data Warehouse and SQL to develop and maintain database structures, analyse database implementation, and ensure data integrity.
- Design and execute backup and recovery processes to protect our system against data loss and streamline database efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with the IT team, understanding the needs and goals to ensure data integrity, security, and performance of multiple databases.
- Regularly review, analyse, and tune SQL queries for maximum efficiency.
- Demonstrate robust problem-solving skills in identifying data-related problems and providing solutions for continuous business operations.
- Coordinate with data producers and users to establish procedures for data input, management and output to ensure the data warehouse's ongoing functionality.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience as Database Administrator.
- Extensive experience working with Data Warehouse and MS SQL Server environment. Ideally knowledge of Big Data and Data Lakes.
- Proven experience in database performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Good knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL.
- Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding.
- Proficient in the use of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other SQL server related services.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work in a team environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Work Location:
The candidate will be required to work from our downtown Toronto office for a minimum of one day per week (currently Tuesday). The remainder of the workweek will be flexible.
