Job Description

The Information Technology Division of the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement is looking for one (1) or more Data Integration Specialist(s) to work on the Integration Hub being undertaken by the Ministry.The position will be located at a Government of Saskatchewan office in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada or from home in accordance with protocols of the MinistryThe intended start date for the role is Dec 21, 2020.The Data Integration (DI) Specialist’s role is to plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the movement and integration of data across various sources into an organized and unified view. This individual is also responsible for the monitoring of data flow between databases, servers and Cloud services to identify and implement the most suitable DI architecture for the organization’s needs. Proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, proficiency in programming languages and data structures, and knowledge of integration best practices are critical to successful performance in this role.Duties of the Resource will include, but are not necessarily limited to:• Orchestrate integration projects and corresponding strategies between business units, data stewards, and development teams.• Plan, execute, and manage the strategic integration of new data and data stores into existing systems and infrastructure throughout the enterprise, including introduction of Cloud services as applicable.• Ensure that integration projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.• Ensure that integration planning and practices are aligned with strategic business goals and the company’s overall strategic vision.• Develop standards and processes to support and facilitate integration projects and initiatives.• Identify common patterns and document best practices for integration.• Maintain high standards of data quality through the introduction and enforcement of information handling processes and organization of the DI processes. Participate in integration testing phase of software and applications under development in order to identify and remedy potential problem areas.• Continually develop skills in the data integration technologies and staying informed on new developments in integration technology.• Design, develop, and deploy solutions within the organization’s architectural principles, policies, and guidelines.• Ensure the collection and coherent interpretation of the various business processes affected by integration efforts.• Work diligently to enhance or improve business processes via integration, or, as necessary, minimize the impact of integration on those processes.• Assist with problem determination and resolution efforts when operational issues with integration solutions arise.• Implement audit, logging, and monitoring solutions to provide proactive operational support in the DI environment.Technologies used in the area:• Spring Boot Framework/ SpringMVC• Working with multiple file formats such as XML, CSVWeb ServicesThe resource will be required to participate in consultant performance evaluation as deemed appropriate by the Ministry. Familiarity with the Government of Saskatchewan, or comparable entity, technical and business landscape is considered an asset.
