This setup fosters brainstorming, problem-solving, and trusted relationships and allows our employees to come together three days a week to collaborate, innovate and thrive!Data Engineer will design, develop, implement and support data solutions and integration frameworks within Telesat, ensuring secure seamless data storage, flow and communication.ResponsibilitiesCollect and analyze business & system requirements. Create project documentation as requiredAssemble sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirementsParticipate in the planning of integration projects. Work and collaborate with stakeholders and project team membersDesign, develop, and deploy data and integration solutions following organization’s architectural principles, policies, and guidelinesResearch and make recommendations on data and integration products and servicesTest and troubleshoot integration solutions, identify and resolve system issuesImplement audit, logging, and monitoring solutions of integration systemsEnsure compliance with data governance and security policiesRequirements5+ years of experience in enterprise-level application integration, including design, testing, deployment and supportExperience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling and methodology development, and data mapping.Experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional applications between disparate business units and systemsExperience with real-time streaming solutions design and development, including Apache Kafka, ksqlDB, Event Hub, Azure Data Explorer, PythonExperience with cloud technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, MS Fabric. Professional certification is desirableKnowledge of relational database design and management techniques, TSQL, PostgreSQLKnowledge of data warehouse solutions design and implementationIn-depth experience with securing integrations, encryption, Azure Key VaultDirect, hands-on experience with automated integration tools and process orchestrationFamiliarity with API protocolsKnowledge of project management methodologies and tools, Jira, Confluence, SmartsheetsStrong knowledge of system and software SDLC cycle, DevOps, quality assurance best practices and methodsExisting Security clearance is an advantageAt Telesat, we take pride in being an equal opportunity employer that values equality in the workplace.
