CREDIT ASSISTANT (ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE/CREDIT/COLLECTIONS)
Full-Time Position
Department: Credit & Collections Dept.
Location: Burnaby
We are Standard Building Supplies, a fast-paced lumber and building supply company. We are looking for an individual with a positive outgoing personality and excellent interpersonal skills to help complete our Credit Dept team. This position focuses largely on customer service and maintaining positive relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Make credit and collection calls for overdue accounts
- Contact customers regarding applications
- Pull online credit reports, analyze credit worthiness and credit risk
- Resolve and investigate customer issues and inquiries
- Data entry, receive and reconcile payments
- Review and assist to maintain our A/R list
- Data entry, opening customer accounts and notifying customers of credit approval
Ideal Profile:
- Positive and outgoing personality
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Excellent grammar and writing skills
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and self-manage
- Excellent communication, organization, customer service, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work well individually as well as in a team environment
- Familiar and proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional and accurate typing ability (minimum 40 wpm)

- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, manage deadlines, and handle high-pressure workloads
- Attention to detail and overall consistency is crucial

Additional Information:
- Schedule: Full Time / General Shift: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday
- Business Hours of Operation: 6 am – 5 pm (Monday – Friday), 8 am – 4 pm (Saturdays)
- Availability: You must be available to work during our hours of operation; hours and schedule fluctuate
- Overtime: Some overtime is required
- Wage: Entry – Intermediate Level Credit Position / Starting from $22 per hour (negotiable upon qualifications and experience)
