Job Description

As a Representative - Customer Service, you will respond to customer inquiries by telephone, e-mail and/or walk-ins to provide inquiry or problem resolution. You will resolve mostly routine and some non-routine, more complex problems and communicates solution or requested information to the customer. You will analyze a customer's service needs and refer to other service or technical departments for follow up as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate sales through personal contact with walk-in and/or telephone customers, repeat customers and sales leads, providing information on products, pricing and delivery
  • Maintain a high level of service to existing customers; managing the customer relationship from contract execution through delivery to after sales service; and generating additional sales through up selling.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times.
  • Receive and process customer orders, recommend substitutions, prepare and input sales data and expedite orders
  • Process and monitor special orders and update customers
  • Assist customers picking up their orders
  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge
  • Endure accuracy in all transactions, inventory, and procedures
  • Participate in all promotional activities and work with suppliers on counter days
  • Participate in all manners of branch operations as required

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Previous counter sales experience considered an asset
  • AS400 experience and knowledge of the CRM preferred
  • Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, and e-mail
  • Has a strong work ethic
  • Someone who can hit the ground running
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced branch
  • Motivated and creative team player
  • Has a strong desire to grow, learn and move up in our company
