Job Description
We are currently seeking a Cost Accountant with hands-on experience to support our client's accounting team. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join a growing company.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive accounting records for both CAD and US companies
- Perform daily deposit reconciliations
- Handle accounts payable
- Conduct cost accounting and manage cash flow
- Perform trust and NSF reconciliations
- Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger
- Prepare journal entries, TB reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Conduct revenue reconciliations
- Process payroll using ADP Workforce
- Reconcile payroll and vacation accruals
- Administer collector’s licenses and extended health benefits
- Prepare monthly property reporting packages and shortfall analysis
- Assist with ad hoc projects and other tasks as necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, CPA designation
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years experience in payroll, benefits administration, bank reconciliation, financial reporting, and bookkeeping
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position
- Solid knowledge of ASPE and Canadian GAAP
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Knowledge of the ADP Workforce
- Working knowledge of Sage 300 and QuickBooks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy
