As the Corporate Environmental Specialist, Electric Mobility, you will support The City's climate mitigation and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals through the implementation of programs, strategies and policies to support electric mobility in Calgary. You will lead the development and implementation of The City's public-facing electric mobility programs, including a multi-unit residential building electric vehicle charging pilot. Primary duties include:

  1. Lead the design and implementation of the multi-unit residential electric vehicle charging pilot.
  2. Lead the electric mobility portfolio, including the design, implementation, capital procurement, evaluation and reporting of Calgary's public-facing electric mobility programs.
  3. Provide subject matter expertise on electric mobility to internal and external partners.
  4. Collaborate with other Community Energy team members to develop programs and other supports to enable GHG reductions in Calgary.
  5. Identify and analyze data to establish program benchmarks, key performance indicators and other climate-related metrics, and support annual accountability reporting.
  6. Lead research, analysis, engagement and facilitation and oversee consultants.
  7. Communicate information to a variety of audiences including speaking and briefing notes, technical reports, outreach, education and communications.
  8. Build cross-corporate and external relationships to ensure collaboration.

Qualifications

  1. A degree in Environment, Planning, Engineering, Public Policy or Sustainability, or a related field.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in environmental program design and delivery or other relevant experience.
  3. Experience in municipal climate program design and delivery, GHG quantification and analysis, and/or electric mobility are considered assets.
  4. Critical thinking, strategic planning, collaboration, and effective communication skills are essential.
