We are currently looking for a machinist to fill a full-time permanent position on the day shift. We offer flexible hours and the possibility of working over 4 and a half days.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT WHEN JOINING THE TEAM

Under the supervision of the Fabrication Supervisor, the machinist adjusts, regulates and operates machinery such as towers, millers, drill presses, etc., to fabricate parts or work metal according to specifications of mechanical plans.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Interpret design specifications in order to determine characteristics of parts to be produced

Determine the most efficient and optimal way to operate machines in order to fabricate parts

Regulate, align and attach tools and templates needed to produce parts (set up)

Calibrate tools in order to obtain the required dimensions

Fabricate metal parts (including supports and fixtures) according to the recommended procedure using machines

Verify fabricated parts using measuring instruments and templates to ensure their conformity to specifications

Drill, polish, clean, etc., parts

Occasionally use radial drill or multiple bit drill

Rigorously respect quality criteria and safety standards established for all aspects of work

Professional Machinist Diploma (DEP)

1 to 2 years of experience in a similar position (an asset)

Able to make templates

Able to read mechanical plans

Know the capacity and speed of machines

Able to lift and move up to25 kg

Able to move about easily, bend over, stand for long periods of time

Ponctual and regular attendance
