Job Description

JOB SUMMARYOne of our clients is looking for a Sr Outside Sales Manager who lives in Greater Sudbury and has successfully and repetitively sold valves, fittings, and similar manufacturing products. Reporting to the Director Outside Sales Eastern Canada, the Sr Outside Sales and Branch Manager is Involved in multiple areas of business operations within the Sudbury branch activities, including Accounting, Finance, Sales, Marketing, etc. As a Sr Outside Sales and Branch Manager, you are on the road 4 days/week, and on site 1 day/week. Your tasks include, but are not limited to: analyzing and resolving business operations issues and needs, providing quality control to business operations, developing and implementing business/sales plans, evaluating results to determine if Sudbury Branch objectives are being met. After a certain level of personal productivity, You strategically identify the right time to start building up a team to optimize business growth in the Greater Sudbury region. As a Sr Outside Sales and Branch Manager you are also a Sales expert of valves, instrumentation products and control systems who successfully contributes to the organization effort to effectively promote and expand the sales of our client's products from various and reputable manufacturers such as: Yokogawa, Flowserve, Leser, Eriez, Fujikin, Lechler, Xylem, ITT Engineered Valves, Check All Valve, TLV , and other brands. You develop new accounts and/or generating new business from existing accounts through strategic customers engagement approaches, and effective approaches to close deals.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESReach out to new clients, maintain current portfolio, and drive sales in Greater Sudbury.Deal with all aspects of the Sudbury branch operations: Accounting, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, etc.As sales increase, effectively manage staff (At the beginning a technical inside sales representative).Demonstrate leadership to obtain maximum sales revenues and attainment of corporate objectives.Work closely with the Director Outside Sales Eastern Canada to establish sales competencies to ensure attainment of skills, knowledge, tools, and processes required to be successful.Monitor sales efforts and identify opportunities for sales process improvements.Ensure accurate and up-to-date records in CRM system of all important customer correspondence, quotations, commitments, contracts, etc., and monitor the sales via sales reports and other intelligence.Visit customer sites within the Greater Sudbury in Ontario, and connect, build trust, and establish meaningful relationships with current and potential customers in the region.When required, cross sell, upsell, and renew deals with customers.Create a growth plan/ sales strategy that serves as a road map to strategically and methodically optimize growth.Create customers’ inquiries documentations to determine appropriate products and/or services selection, including creation of order notations related to exceptions and deviations.As needed, initiate and/or participate in other sales initiatives such as products’ presentations, Trade Show participation, product training…REQUIRED EXPERIENCE10 years of experience as an Outside Sales Manager, or sales field specialist or equivalent client-facing experience with technical products in the process/manufacturing field, and with demonstrated success.5 years of experience building, and managing a sales team, and /or a manufacturing branchTechnical level understanding of at least one of the following activities within the manufacturing field: control valves, instrumentation, fittings, and information exchange.Experience in customers’ accounts ongoing maintenance and service (An asset).EDUCATIONBachelor's Degree in Sales, and/or Business Development, and/or management, and/or Instrumentation, and/or Control, and/or equivalent education/training/experience.SKILLS/COMPETENCESKnowledge of the industrial process/manufacturing field, and particularly valves.Mastery of Sales techniques, so that they can naturally identify improvement opportunities, and know when it is time to close a deal.Ability to manage a team, and particularly one with sales representatives.Possess an influential network of contacts with highly visible industry presence.Technical expertise, and the proven ability to remain current with respect to industry trends, provincial and federal legislative policies and changes.Negotiation skills, and the ability to close complex deals.Ability to communicate, and present effectively to others.Organizational and time management skills.Commitment to be at service and bring value to others.Willingness to learn new platforms/products/solutions.Interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams.Demonstrated confidence.Results-oriented; able to balance multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.Desire to contribute to the success of the company.WORKING CONDITIONSBeing on the road within Greater Sudbury (4 days/week) , and Warehouse environment (1 day/week)A computer keyboard and mouse for some timeTravel within Greater Sudbury is required for client facing meetings: 80%WHAT OUR CLIENT OFFERSCompensation and benefitsAdvancement in a fast-paced teamEducation and trainingRecognition ProgramCar allowanceBeing part of an exciting venture where people are passionate to build, serve others and grow.
