This role provides an exciting opportunity in construction management supporting our communities with vital Wastewater Treatment Infrastructure.A well-qualified Contract Administrator will work on the construction site with our engineering team of designers and site representatives to provide contract administration and risk management, and to evaluate compliance requirements defined in construction contracts including review of regulations and Client requirements.Primary ResponsibilitiesInterpret contract documents and ensure complianceManage the measurement of construction progress and the preparation of payment certificatesReview, provide recommendations on, and resolve Contract Change Requests and Claims while managing change management processesProvide conflict resolution and field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issuesManage responses to Requests for InformationLead construction progress meetings and prepare minutesLiaise with the contractor, client and Municipal officials on project updates and progress, including preparation and issuance of project reportsOther duties as assignedQualificationsFive years contract administration or relevant experience in construction/reconstruction of wastewater infrastructure including wastewater treatmentA thorough knowledge of construction and contracting principles, methods, procedures, and practices including contract administration relating to changes, claims and delaysLicensed member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or Certified Civil Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) would be considered an assetPositive attitude with good leadership, communication and interpersonal skillsExperience in project planning, risk management, cost management, schedule management and preparation/administration of contract documents and specificationsAbility to interpret construction drawings and specificationsAbility to work both independently and cooperatively as part of a teamMTO Class ‘G’ driver’s license in good standing and access to a personnel vehicleEffective communicator possessing demonstrated skills in dealing with other staff, contractors, and the public, with matters arising from construction projectsFamiliarity with current traffic control regulationsFamiliarity with relevant environmental regulations, municipal approvals and local by-lawsPossess working knowledge of the Occupation Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, and Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS) for Municipal projectsDemonstrate skills in the use of computer utilizing programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)Additional InformationEthics and integrity are fundamental values at CIMA+.
