Content Writer (Luxury) (Creative Department)

We Are Social is on the lookout for a confident, enthusiastic and passionate Intermediate Social Content Writer with experience working on luxury brands to join our team in Toronto who can concept and write best-in-class social content for forward-thinking brands.

We need someone who is inspired by moments in culture and able to create disruptive, ownable ideas, executed with a distinct voice and style. You should have a working understanding of social content, themes, formats, and trends.

In this role you’ll work closely with designers, content creators, content strategists, and more as you collaborate on key client work across one premium luxury brand.

What does the role involve?

  • Delivering compelling content and always-on series that resonate with key audiences
  • Building and adhering to robust, brand-specific content strategies to guide your work across platforms
  • Executing at a high level; delivering strong stories and considered craft, at all times
  • Being proactive. Not waiting for a brief; providing creative solutions for clients and inspiring others to do the same. If you have a good idea, you’ll put it forward.
  • Ideating and executing against cultural and behavioural trends
  • Working collaboratively across the business, whether it’s with strategy, client service, production, the Sr. creative team, or your CDs
  • Working alongside the Research & Insights team to sharpen your ideas based on cultural insights, relevant data, and previous performance

What are we looking for?

  • 4+ years experience working as a writer within in a creative agency with a strong proven track record of delivering copy for luxury brand(s)
  • A passion for culture, creativity, content, and social media
  • A background in global brand work preferred
  • Solid writing craft: you can write, edit, concept, and present; you can flex and uphold a distinct brand voice across various outputs; you’re comfortable making content from beginning to end; as well as giving and taking feedback
  • A strong understanding of social platforms and formats
  • You have a way with words and a talent for big ideas and tight word counts. You can sell your vision; adapt to different business needs and audiences; and you know when to use an em dash and an oxford comma.
  • Solid people skills: you work and communicate well with others, you can direct and delegate as needed, you’re comfortable leading by example and asking for help
  • An ability to tap into fast-moving culture: spot trends, notice behaviour, and dig for insights, then translate them into brand opportunities
  • Attention to detail and a clear creative vision
