Content Manager

The Influence Agency is a growing marketing agency that specializes in Influencer Marketing, Community Management, Content Strategy & Development, SEO, Paid Media, Web Design & Development, and much more!
We are looking for a Content Manager who possesses the ability to think both creatively and analytically. Content manager duties include formulating content strategies and managing a content team, implementing best on-page SEO practices, and writing, editing and proofreading content, among other tasks.
This is an exciting position at a fast-moving agency aimed at always delivering best in class marketing services, on the cutting edge.
We’re working in a hybrid model with 2+ days a week in the office (including free lunches!) and we’re looking for someone who is located in or around the GTA with the ability to travel to our West End location.

Abilities & Skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to develop creative and targeted communications materials for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to assist in the written development of new content, including blogs and on page copy

  • An understanding of relevant content to engage, educate, and drive action

  • In depth experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Wordpress, SEO tools, and / or Content Management Systems
  • Knowledge of industry software and platforms (GSC, GA4, Ahrefs, Surfer SEO, Serpstat, Wordpress, Canva) or willingness to learn
  • Experienced with keyword research, keyword optimization, linking, and other on-page SEO best practices

Experience
  • At least 2-3 years of hands-on content management experience in a high-production environment
  • Agency experience is strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities

The ebbs and flows of work at an agency may require you to pitch in on a variety of projects in different ways. The right candidate will embrace the diversity of this environment, and view it as an opportunity to learn and try new things.
Content Planning & Ideation
  • Execute full-cycle SEO content production including research, planning, writing, and editing
  • Conduct deep market research, including keyword and competitor analysis
  • Work alongside SEO / Content Team to develop content strategies that will help our clients rank in search results
  • Develop content calendars, blog topics, content briefs, and wireframes for a variety of audiences in different industries
  • Schedule and optimize blog posts for deployment
  • Lead and participate in internal brainstorming sessions to come up with fresh, creative content ideas for our clients

Content Production and Quality Assurance
  • Proofreading content for grammar, spelling, formatting, UX, on-page SEO, and client brand tone/key messaging
  • Ensure that content meets the company or client’s needs and follows our in-house style guides
  • Verify content and information by fact-checking and confirming sources
  • Provide editorial, creative, and technical support to writers as well as constructive feedback and revision recommendations
  • Ensure that all deadlines and deliverables are met by the content team, adjusting schedules based on ad hoc request when necessary
  • Track web analytics to ascertain content engagement levels and build reports to be presented in client meetings
  • Manage the uploading of content to client sites and ensure formatting is correct in the live environment
  • Conduct internal training sessions with our writers

New Client Setups
  • Coordinate and manage the onboarding of new client accounts within our internal software
  • Work alongside Account Managers and SEO Director to roll out Inbound Marketing strategies
  • Create and update internal client briefs and brand bibles
  • Liaise with Account Managers to maintain regular communication on all accounts

Qualifications

  • Graduate of College or University

Excellent to Have

  • Basic design skills (Canva, Figma, or Adobe)
  • Project management experience.
  • Basic HTML experience and design are a plus.
