Job Description

We are currently searching for a Senior Site Superintendent for our growing team in London, Ontario. As a Site Superintendent you will collaborate with the Project Management team to complete project requirements as per plans and specifications, ensuring they are completed on time and on budget. In addition, you will be responsible for implementing and enforcing health and safety programs and quality control processes on-site. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for cost control on site. Manage all activities related to site-related purchasing, equipment rentals, equipment purchases, and winter conditionsResponsible for schedule performance for each project and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations for the entire ProjectUpdate the project schedule weekly and monthly and in accordance with company practicesIdentify workforce shortages each week and convey required corrective measuresProvide general administrative and technical leadership for the project teamDevelop and maintain positive working relationships – internal and external relationsManage, train, and develop assigned office and project staffReview and assist with preparation of scopes of workDevelop work sequences and review detailed trade schedulesEnsure trade schedules comply with the overall Project ScheduleDevelop and update Site Logistics Plans, hoisting plansKnow the submittal schedule and scheduled delivery dates for all critical path itemsMaintain and apply current procedures while contributing to improvements for all operational functions including design constructability, preconstruction, staffing, site logistics, safety, budgets, value engineering, job cost, schedules, quality control, phased occupancy, unit deliveries, project close-outApprove contractor invoices, change order requests; work to resolve scope conflicts/disputesSchedule/facilitate all on-site project meetings to successfully coordinate work activityIdentify defective / deficient work and manage all corrective actionsManage and maintain a thorough knowledge of all major project issues and prioritiesGenerate and log daily reports to industry standardsMaintain and monitor all project records and correspondence to industry standardsPerform on-site inspections to ensure standards and requirements are metObtain certificates of occupancyQUALIFICATIONS:5 - 10 years of construction experience as a Superintendent with a General Contractor.Construction-related degree or diploma (Construction Management, CET, Engineering Degree, etc.) an assetExperience building new ground-up high-rise residential projects Combination of work experience and/or technical training in an industry-related trade certification/education programExtensive working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to common construction processesSolid understanding of current construction practices; strong working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and project managementProven ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budgetAbility to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret stakeholder's needs and identify solutionsCapable of anticipating constructability issues in complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and scheduleAbility to use Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiar with scheduling softwareMust have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license
