About Us: Since 1972, Fritz-Alder Precast has produced and installed precast concrete products, leading the way through innovation. Fritz-Alder Precast is growing again and is seeking a professional and dedicated Project Manager to join our team. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of Total Precast projects. This position offers a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to collaborate with clients and multiple departments within the company, including Estimating, Engineering, Drafting, Production, and Installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to manage multiple projects. Depending on project size; should expect to manage 3-4 projects simultaneously.
- Early involvement in the preliminary design process of projects to confirm compatibility with project estimates, production capacity, and common construction practices.
- Maintaining project design schedules and requirements.
- Ability to prioritize and manage several tasks and work as part of a team or independently.
- Readiness to take initiative with a flexible attitude and ability to deal with changes through different project phases.
- Maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including, engineering drawings, change orders, RFIs, and site reports.
- Creating and maintaining schedules (overall PC timeline) and providing updates accordingly.
- Troubleshoot design conflicts, site issues and discrepancies.
- Work closely with manufacturing on details, process, and ordering hardware.
- Support installation crews with scheduling and repair details.
- Work closely with Estimating and potentially be involved with some estimates, as required.
- General review of piece tickets before they are released to the Plant for manufacturing.
- Review and manage changes with project stakeholders.
- Review schedule and cost impacts.
Managing long lead items, such as ordering hardware.
- Prepare Schedule of Values (SOV) and complete monthly invoicing.
- Prepare and execute subcontracts and purchase orders.
Review, generate, and track RFIs and other project documentation as required.
- Set up and maintain all project files once a project is awarded.
- Input Profit/Loss summaries into Jonas and provide regular job cost reports once installation is underway.
- Manage and expedite site drawings, ensuring site and subtrades have the most current drawings.
- Startup and coordination of design meetings.
- Provide feedback to the Sales and Estimating team as required.
- Attend all project-related meetings.
- Plan and execute corrective actions when necessary, working with the Construction Manager to resolve challenges.
- Oversee and review shop drawing submittal/approval process.
- Identify work outside of project scope and track work orders diligently.
- Obtain Change Order pricing from subcontractors/suppliers.
- Ensure deficiencies are corrected and floor sign-off sheets are completed promptly.
- Manage the closeout of projects by obtaining final building sign-offs, ensuring the completion and resolution of all outstanding work, and submitting final project documentation.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Degree/Diploma in Construction Engineering (CET diploma) or Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Previous experience with precast structures is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
- Proficient in various Microsoft computer applications, including MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook. Knowledge of Procore Construction Management Software would be an asset.
- Willingness to travel within Southern Ontario if required; must have a current, valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read architectural, structural and shop fabrication drawings.
- Ability to coordinate drawings and find errors, omissions and discrepancies.
- Apply a solid understanding of general construction methods and materials, specifically structural elements.
- Strong understanding of inspection and testing practices for rebar and concrete.
- Strong understanding of construction management documentation i.e. RFIs and SIs.
