Job Description

We are currently searching for a Construction Engineer to join our Transportation Project Delivery team in our Calgary office.

As the ideal candidate, you have a passion for transportation engineering, while being an excellent communicator with effective organizational skills and leadership potential, who thrives in a dynamic work environment. Your abilities will be strengthened and grown through a range of transportation projects in Alberta focused on construction delivery and contract administration. Your responsibilities will include: 
• Acting as a representative of the company and communicating regularly with the contractor, project managers, clients, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Providing oversight of construction projects.
• Construction site monitoring and regular, part-time, or full-time inspections as required to monitor contractor’s progress, workmanship, and general conformance with the contract documents.
• Prepare clear and concise project reports, field notes, sketches, memorandums, and other project support documentation.
• Supporting and/or leading contract administration activities based on the scale of the project.

Job Requirements

What you will bring:
• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• 5+ years experience with urban roadway and/or highway construction inspection is required. Direct experience with Alberta Transportation and City of Calgary projects and specifications is preferred.
• Multi-discipline experience with infrastructure scope is preferred.
• Prior experience with a consulting firm is an asset.
• Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to think quickly.
• Committed team player and the ability to work independently. 
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel within Alberta.
