Responsibilities:
- To perform technical support in two different ways – at our office providing telephone/remote tech support and test bench work and in person at customer locations around the GTA. Primarily work (90%+) will be done from our office in Vaughan, Ontario. We are an essential service as defined by Ontario Government (Information Technology).
- To keep track of support requests and their status
- To efficiently prioritize technical support requests based on the issues presented with the assistance of Senior IT staff.
- To meet with the Senior IT Staff on a daily basis (or as required) to discuss issues and challenges.
- To promptly assist customers as first contact with minor computer or telephone problems. E.g. Log-In Problems, E-Mail Connectivity, Connecting Smartphones to customer systems, password changes, setup 2FA, etc.
- Ability to communicate to customers in an effective manner.
- Ability to train users on computer technology
- Provide assistance to Senior IT Staff for execution of large projects (server installs, phone system installs, enterprise software upgrades, etc).
- Perform routine remote checkups of customer’s systems to ensure healthy environment (e.g. Windows Updates, Backup, Virus Scanning)
Skills and Requirements:
- Candidate must have a good working knowledge of a Microsoft Network environment. Microsoft software used is as follows:
- Desktop OS: Windows 10 / Windows 11
- Server OS: Windows Server 2022 & 2019
- Office Suite: Microsoft Office 365/2021 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- E-Mail: Office 365 Admin/Exchange
- Microsoft Certifications and A+ or related work experience (optional but helpful)
- Must have reliable car and G/G2 license to be able to visit customers. Potential to accommodate an applicant without a car at the lower end of the salary scale.
Other Information:
- Background or interest in VoIP technologies, 3CX Phone System, Telephone PBX Systems, MS Active Directory, Programming are also helpful assets.
