Job Description

The Community Wellness Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Community Wellness Program. Supporting the Newcomer Wellness and Indigenous Wellness teams, the Program Manager brings together a diverse set of professionals to address the current and emerging needs of these unique populations through groups, workshops, land-based learning, and community events. This role involves leading or participating in programs, organizational initiatives, committees, and functions. Collaborating closely with Mount Carmel Clinic management, the Program Manager ensures alignment of programs and services with client needs, integrates services both within and beyond Mount Carmel Clinic, and fosters teamwork and collaboration across all Mount Carmel Clinic departments.

Qualifications

Education

  • Degree at the Bachelor level in a related discipline, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

Management Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of management experience including supervising social workers and other community service disciplines.

Program/Community Knowledge

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working effectively in a related service/program and similar population.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic financial management and program management, evaluation and development.
  • Understanding of the assets, challenges, needs and interests of Mount Carmel Clinic’s clients and community.

Critical Skills

  • Proven knowledge and ability in critical thinking, decision-making, change management, problem-solving, crisis management and conflict resolution

  • Demonstrated ability to manage programs, projects and initiatives to effectively and efficiently achieve their goals and produce expected results/outcomes

Assets
