About us:

The Finance Division is responsible for the University's overall financial policies, systems, and controls, within a decentralized financial management structure. The Division provides financial leadership and services to the University, establishing and monitoring financial policies and procedures, ensuring accurate financial controls are in place, setting direction for financial information systems, and producing financial reports and analysis.

Your opportunity:

Under the direction of the Manager, Strategic Initiatives, and working closely with the Project and Change Specialist as well as the Financial Advisory Services and Training Team, the Communications Officer will communicate projects and their impacts within the University's Financial Modernization Program. The incumbent will support the development of training resources and lead on SharePoint content to support change for community members. This will involve building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance.

Your responsibilities will include: Advising on best practices and strategies for effective communication. Developing and implementing communication plans that support strategic objectives. Delivering presentations to promote initiatives and to lead change. Editing content for newsletters, websites, handbooks and/or training guides. Proofreading of materials. Stakeholder management and appropriate communications to stakeholders to foster collaboration, engagement and to support change management. Development of a SharePoint content for new users to Concur travel and expense solutions. Customize websites according to objectives and/or user feedback. Support the development of training materials and step-by-step guides for faculty, staff, and other users. Manage version control to ensure that the latest versions of resources are up-to-date and older versions are removed from circulation. Develop memos and communications to be sent from senior leaders. Verify that all communication materials adhere to brand identity and University style guides. Designing surveys to support the evaluation of strategies and objectives. Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders. Support the Strategic Initiatives team as required. Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. Minimum five years' experience. Demonstrated experience with video creation and editing software such uPerform. Demonstrated experience with a diagram drawing tool such as Visio or Lucidchart. Strong written communication skills and an ability to create engaging and informative PowerPoint presentations. Experience of successfully developing a communication plan, as well as demonstrated experience in stakeholder management. Demonstrated experience in developing communications for senior leaders. Experience with SharePoint content development. Demonstrated experience of developing training resources. Strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to manage uncertainty and to develop blueprints for initiatives that have not been done before. Assets (Nonessential): PROSCI or equivalent change management certification. Learning and development certification. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams. Understanding of evolving nature of higher education.
