Job Description
Our client, a major financial institution in Canada is looking to hire a Communications Manager for a 12-month contract. This role is hybrid with 1-2 days in downtown Toronto.
You will be responsible for the following duties:
Advises DnA senior leaders and teams on strategic communications and change management initiatives, aligning counsel with stakeholder needs and overarching communication strategy.
Analyzes complex strategic problems, synthesizes data and information, and provides actionable insights and recommendations to drive strategic decision-making.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, effectively communicating with internal partners at all levels, providing confident counsel, and offering strategic recommendations.
Leads the development of communication plans tailored to influence or change behavior, crafting messaging and selecting appropriate distribution channels.
Creates, edits, coordinates, and publishes communication materials and messaging solutions, ensuring content is timely, relevant, and aligned with organizational goals.
Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance communication content, platforms, and technology, staying abreast of industry trends and making recommendations for improvement.
Evaluates the effectiveness of communication solutions, gathering feedback, measuring impact on target audiences, and continuously refining strategies to drive engagement and alignment.
Must have skills:
5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Writing & editing skills - In-depth.
Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
Creating presentation decks/PowerPoint slides - In-depth
Previous banking/insurance experience preferred
Video editing skills are a nice to have
Experience with project level communication (users) an asset
Event management experience a nice to have.
