Our client is looking for a Communication Lead for an hybrid mandate.

Start date: June 17th, 2024
End date: March 31st, 2025

Location:  Halifax, NS

Overview
The SAP Modernization Program, is responsible for planning and delivering a portfolio of SAP related projects for its client organizations. SAP MP is currently executing a multi-year program to modernize the SAP systems for its client organizations. The modernization of the SAP systems involves enabling significant business transformation within the client organizations, with a large focus on business process change, implementing new SAP applications and migrating the SAP applications to the cloud.

 As part of the process, the Communications Lead will manage the Program Communications team and associated deliverables to prepare the client organizations to receive, adopt and sustain the change.

2.1 Project Scope and Timeframes
The Communications Lead (the Consultant) selected will report to the SAP MP Change Management & Communications Project Lead. They will be responsible for delivering services as defined herein. The primary scope of work required from the Consultant will be to collaborate with the Change Management and Training Leads and OCM Program Manager on the planning and delivery of the integrated approach for communications strategies and plans for the program, including providing guidance and oversight for the Communications team members. The Consultant will also work closely with business resources, the SAP MP Pillar leads and team leads, and other SAP MP project team members.

The consultant will collaborate with the Organizational Change Management (OCM) team to develop and deliver detailed communications campaigns associated with each phase of the project, and plans to support critical project activities, provide oversight and management of the change networks, co-develop multiple phases of change readiness assessment, develop and execute on cross-sector communications plans targeting broad audiences and lead the establishment of guidelines, standards and protocols for the Program Communications stream of OCM.

2.2 Key Duties & Responsibilities:
The Communications Lead is responsible for developing and delivering the communications strategies and plans required to prepare the business to receive, adopt and sustain the change related to the Project. This role will plan, lead, and manage the established communications deliverables for the project including planned and unplanned communications, communications product development, communications campaigns, cross-sector communications plan delivery and oversight for communications systems and processes associated. The Communication Lead will report to the Change Management and Communications Project Lead and provide leadership and direction to the Program Communications resources.


• Leads the planning and development of Communications Plan including, all associated deliverables, campaigns, and work products, identifying requirements, trends etc.
• Leads the Communications team resources including Sr. Communications Consultants, Communications Specialists, and Communications Systems Lead.
• Manages the Program Communications Plan for the project and all associated tasks and activities.
• Develops a deep understanding of Program communications needs and translation of those needs into a tactical communications plan and associated communications products.
• Facilitates and leads the development of communications products and conducts activities in accordance with best practices, templates, standards, guidelines, and protocols, ensuring alignment with the SAP MP OCM Strategy to support a unified approach and user experience.
• Collaborates with OCM Program Leads, Functional Change Management and Training Teams in support of communication requirements.
• Develops and delivers mechanisms to solicit feedback, organizing and facilitating 2-way communication with program team and business stakeholders.
• Provides oversight and direction for SAP MP communications systems and processes.
• Manages the SAP MP standards and branding.


2.3 Candidate Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications:

o Minimum 5 years’ experience leading communications activities and initiatives on an ERP project and/or technology implementation.
o Minimum 2 years’ experience leading an OCM team on an SAP implementation.

Desired Qualifications:

o Experience working in a public sector environment.
o Experience implementing cross-organizational and/or government sectors projects.
o Strong planning skills that are proven in highly fluid work environments.

3. Consultant / Department Responsibilities
The Consultant’s role is to lead the development and delivery of Program Communications activities. In addition, the responsibilities of the Consultant include:
• Providing the Change Management & Communications Project Lead with:
• Work Plans.
• Status reports.
• Issues to be addressed.
• Risks to be managed / mitigated.
• Adhering to SAPSM Division policies and procedures.


Must have Work Authorization for Canada.
