Communications and Electronics Systems Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the electronic systems engineering and life cycle management teams for the NWS project.
- Coordinate technical meetings with the North Warning System Office[ADM(Mat)] and other stakeholders.
- Manage the development of project files, including scope, business case analysis, and costing estimates, to support the NWS project.
- Review engineering designs and provide guidance at technical design review meetings.
- Supervise the life cycle management of electronic systems equipment, including maintenance processes and obsolescence management, to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Ensure effective project implementation support and strategic spare parts management for the NWS project.
- Conduct engineering inspections and research at NWS sites as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering diploma or equivalent.
- Professional Engineer designation eligibility or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering design experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory or team lead/coordination experience.
- Experience delivering projects to the Government of Canada preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of satellite communications systems, data networks, and control systems relevant to the NWS project.
- Strong understanding of design principles, project management, and technical document development.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a team environment.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Customer service orientation and ability to build and maintain relationships.
Working Conditions:
- Mostly office-based work with occasional travel to NWS locations (approximately 15 days per year).
- Interacts regularly with internal departments and external stakeholders including government offices and subcontractors.
