Job Description

Island Health is hiring a full-time Communications Advisor (remote). The Opportunity In this role, you are responsible for the development and implementation of strategic communication and engagement plans and activities to support Island Health’s objectives. You will work closely with the Manager and/or Director and other members of the Communications and Partnerships portfolio to plan and execute communications strategies and tactics that connect, engage and celebrate staff and medical staff at Island Health. Travel is required in addition to evening and weekend assignments. The position is remote (work from home) and can be based anywhere within the Island Health region. The starting salary range (hourly rate) is $38.27 - $55.01. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field such as communications, public relations, journalism or marketing/advertising plus three to five years of experience writing, editing, storytelling and events, ideally in a large public sector, health care or other large, complex organization.
