Job Description

This role will be accountable for creating and implementing communication strategies for EECOL Electric, with a focus of ~80% internal and 20% external. The advisor will work collaboratively with all levels of EECOL, championing the important role communication plays in an organization and creating messages and campaigns to promote company projects, keep employees informed and motivated. We promote within; excellent opportunities to advance along with educational assistance so you can pursue your career goals.A benefits package designed with your total well-being in mind including generous paid time off, comprehensive insurance options for you and your family, generous flex benefits, health & dental plan, disability, life insurance, vision care, and a retirement savings plan including Pension, RRSP and TFSA opportunities to save for the future!Enjoy a wide variety of perks including discounts on travel, vehicles, entertainment, shopping and many more.Responsibilities:Lead a comprehensive communications program that will effectively communicate the company's strategy, vision, and goals to align the team's work with objectives.Create a calendar for internal communication that is timely, relevant and supports strategic engagement and culture goals.Develop relationships with various business partners and senior leaders, plan and deliver communications to support key change initiatives.Create, edit and oversee all internal communication such as all-hands communication, leader communication, executive presentations and speaking remarks.With support from our shared services teams and in-house design, drive the re-creation and evolution of a new intranet site including content strategy, curation, distribution, and analysis of site content.Review and analyze data to measure the effectiveness and engagement of communication programs and recommend best practices and tools for communicating with particular focus on non-desk teams and hybrid work environments.Support crisis communications and media relations as needed.Qualifications:A Bachelors Degree - Journalism, Communications, English or related area.Minimum of 5 years of related experience; internal communications or progressive communication-related roles experience to be considered.Experience optimizing company intranet sites considered an asset.Experience creating communication plans to support major change initiatives across a large organization a plus.Experience working in a large, multi-location organization is a plus.Exceptional written communication skills, including editing, proofreading, and attention to detail.A talented storyteller who can explain complex information clearly and engagingly in a manner that employees will understand (adjusting tone and voice as needed).Knowledgeable about the latest developments in internal communications, especially new digital platforms and channels.Well-versed in the principles and practices of change management.Able to handle sensitive and confidential topics with professionalism.Strong time management skills, able to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.A team player who can collaborate effectively with others.Are You Ready to Launch Your Career with EECOL?Founded in 1919, we have been offering competitive value and superior service for over 100 years with over 60 locations in Western Canada.
