Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled Commercial Property Underwriter to join their Offer and Acceptance team. This pivotal role involves the new business and renewal underwriting of commercial property risks. Responsibilities: Assess new and renewal business to make informed risk decisions. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop underwriting strategies that foster growth and retention. Utilize advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel and Word, to analyze data and create reports. Build and maintain strong professional relationships, enhancing business opportunities. Engage in critical evaluation of underwriting data, ensuring efficiency and organization in all tasks.Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial underwriting, specifically in property and casualty for small to medium enterprises. Proven experience with subscription business models and split rating systems. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on professional relationship building. Results-driven approach with a demonstrated ability to meet growth and retention targets. Highly organized, efficient, and capable of critical thinking. Experience in underwriting various industries such as residential and commercial realty, retail, hospitality, and manufacturing is highly valued. Knowledge of program/portfolio underwriting will be considered an asset. CIP designation, or currently pursuing CIP credentials, preferred.
