Our client, located in Scarborough, ON, has an immediate opportunity:
CNC Programmer/Operator – 5 Axis
The CNC Machinist is responsible for programming, setup and operation of 5 axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controllers. This is a programmer/Operator role and is cutting edge technology.
Ideal requirements:
- 10 years CNC programming experience of 3/4/5 axis
- 5 years CNC set-up/operating experience
- Experience with mold and build to print parts involving low quantity (1-10) runs
- Experience with on machine verification using CNC probing and programming
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform each essential duty with precision and with little supervision
- Read process sheets, blueprints and/or sketches of part to determine final product
- Review specifications to determine set up procedure, machining sequence and dimensions of finished product
- Responsible for editing programs
- Ensure effective production of quality parts by checking drawings or sketches, using gauges and other measuring equipment
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, College Technician / Technologist graduate preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in 5 axis CNC machining
- Experience in machining components to tight tolerances
