Job Description

Element5 is looking for CNC Operators to join our afternoon shift Shift Schedule: Monday - Thursday | 3:30 pm - 2:00 am The CNC Operator will play a crucial role in operating CNC machinery. Under the direction of the Production Manager and in collaboration with the engineering team, this position is responsible for interpreting specifications, controlling project activities, and ensuring the successful execution and delivery of projects. Key Responsibilities: Operate CNC machinery, ensuring products are crafted according to specifications. Understand drawings and G-code using DDX software and MasterCAM. Evaluate program blueprints, outlining machine operations and dimensions. Perform routine maintenance to keep machines in optimal condition. Understand tool paths for CNC routers, considering the specific tools needed for various materials. Minimize waste by effectively controlling offcuts. Collaborate with the CNC Manager to ensure project timelines are met. Identify potential quality issues and communicate with the supervisor for verification. Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related problems promptly. Load and unload products onto equipment or trucks, ensuring accuracy against production orders. Participate in the maintenance of the facility and its equipment. Qualifications & Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software. Mechanical aptitude and strong mathematical skills. Ability to independently operate and program CNC machines, including 5-axis systems. Familiarity with carpentry and woodworking tools. Experience using MasterCAM, DDX, or similar programming software is preferred. Professionalism in communication and feedback. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Education and Experience: Completion of post-secondary education in CNC Operation or equivalent experience/training. Experience in operating and setting up CNC Router machines, especially within a woodshop environment, is preferred. A previous forklift certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program is an asset. A previous Overhead Crane certificate or satisfactory completion of a Overhead Crane program is an asset. Working Conditions: This role involves physical effort, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Work environment may contain dust and noise. Why Join Element5?
