About the Club

WANLESS PARK COMMUNITY TENNIS CLUB IS GROWING!!

Wanless Park Community Tennis Club (The “Club”) is a seasonal not-for-profit community tennis club located in Toronto near Yonge and Lawrence. Wanless has five (5) lit, well-maintained hard courts and a climate-controlled clubhouse.

Responsibilities

  • Hiring, training, supervising, and leading clubhouse staff before the season and throughout as required.
  • Lead the effort to set up and close the facilities both pre- and post-season.
  • Payroll administration.
  • Preparing detailed and accurate monthly reports required for the preparation of the Club’s financial statements and other reporting.
  • On-going reporting to the Board of Directors on Club activities.
  • Organizing and managing events such as opening and closing BBQ’s and other social events in cooperation with the board of directors.
  • Establishing and monitoring tennis court maintenance schedules and protocols.

Experience which is an asset

  • Supervisory experience, particularly in retail, restaurant, sports facility, or similar.

Skills which are an asset

  • Highly organized.
  • Service-oriented with excellent people skills.
  • Have excellent computer skills, particularly Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Some knowledge of tennis and its rules.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle to run errands, pick up supplies, etc. Proof of insurance for the personal vehicle must be provided to the Club. Use of the personal vehicle will be at their own risk and will be reimbursed at the approved CRA per kilometer rate.

Work term

  • Early to mid-March through to the end of October or mid-November, depending on when the Club closes for the season.
  • Estimated 15 – 20 hours per week during the Club’s regular season, April 1, 2024 to October 31, 2024.

Pay

  • Pay scale commensurate with experience. Hourly part-time seasonal position.
