On behalf of the the North Western Ontario Health Record (NWOHR) Program, The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position with a highly motivated, team-orientated professional: Temporary Full-Time (1-year contract, renewable) Clinical Informatics Pharmacist Lead Program Description North Western Ontario has established a forward-thinking Digital Health Vision. This vision is: “…to be a leading health system - enabled by innovative digital transformation - where partners work together to achieve the best outcomes and care experience for the people of North Western Ontario”. At the centre of our Vision is a person, patient, client. Each person will be surrounded by a single, person-centricNorth Western Ontario Health Record (NWOHR), where clinicians work seamlessly regardless of where they work or how they are funded. Many other tools will both link into and leverage the NWOHR. As technology changes and we continue to innovate, our vision provides for those tools to also link into the NWOHR.The NWOHR Program will transform and enable health care across the region and stakeholders residing from the Manitoba border in the west to Manitouwadge in the east will play key roles in the in Program. Innovation in stakeholder engagement, experience working in virtual teams, and willingness to travel in the region will be required for all members of the Program team.The Program requires staff who are self‑motivated, energetic, independent, and who thrive in roles requiring ongoing prioritization of multiple demands. This is a Work from Home/ virtual position, therefore we are looking for a highly organized and collaborative professional, who will operate effectively in a remote working environment.This is aonce in a career opportunityto be part of a transformation impacting all health system staff and clinicians in the region.Job Summary The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist Specialist will work with the NWOHR Program team to ensure quality pharmaceutical care to patients and their families as it relates to pharmacy informatics during the planning, implementation and maintenance of NWOHR Program.Responsibilities Supports the Clinical Informatics Pharmacy Lead in all the aspects of the NWOHR Program. Supports work in the design, build, test, implementation, integration, and maintenance of NWOHR Program to assure safe and appropriate use of medications. Participates in the appropriate testing of all integrated applications. Ensures that knowledge-based information, which includes the scientific literature of healthcare, is appropriately considered and evaluated prior to implementation of software changes. Participates in the development and maintenance of order sets with a focus on medications. Promotes effective communication concerning medication use applications. Participates as a member of interdepartmental committees when requested and imparts knowledge related to pharmacy automation and technology. Ensures that medication related systems support compliance with recognized pharmacy practice standards. Must treat all information concerning patient affairs or illnesses and/or NWOHR Program business as confidential, privileged information, which must never be discussed except in the course of duty. Must be accountable for ensuring the safest patient care and services and for recognizing and reporting safety incidents or potentially unsafe conditions. Must work to foster an inclusive environment that honors each individual’s uniqueness, and provides a culturally safe experience through respect and compassion for all staff, professional staff, patients, and community partners. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Education / Experience Minimum Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD. Certification with the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada Must be a member in good standing and currently licensed as a Part A Registered Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacy. Minimum 2 years of hospital clinical pharmacy experience. Skills / Abilities Demonstrated critical thinking and decision making skills. Ability to manage several projects/tasks concurrently and prioritize for efficiency. Outstanding attention to detail. Proven good attendance record and the ability to work flexible hours as required. Strong computer experience in a medical field and information systems Preferred experience with Meditech Expanse Self-starter, has initiative required to act under minimal supervision Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Dryden Regional Health Centre’s Code of Conduct and Standards of Behaviour Demonstrates DRHC Core Values; Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion and Respect Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination status to be presented prior to hire Ability to work flexible hours is required Flexible working arrangements available including hybrid/remote option Travel to regional sites as required This is a Non Union position.
