Reports to: Drop-in Manager

Status: Full-time, one-year contract, tentative starting date of mid July

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30/8:00 am to 3:30/4:00 pm

Location: 522 Adelaide Street West, Toronto

Founded in 1913, Evangel Hall Mission (EHM) is a multi-service agency that provides support to people who are experiencing homelessness and poverty. Our Drop-In offers hot meals, showers, laundry facilities and respite from the elements. Clients can access spiritual care, volunteer and employment opportunities, information & referrals and voluntary financial trusteeship from EHM staff. They can also access a range of supports from community partners onsite at EHM, such as Narcotics Anonymous, vaccine clinics, nursing care, legal clinics, programs offered by Toronto Public Health and many more.

What you would bring to the role:
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary education in social service work, community management, social sciences, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Drop-in programs, service standards and principles.
  • Ability and skills in the areas of crisis intervention, conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Skilled in supporting clients from a variety of backgrounds, including people who may be experiencing mental health crisis or addictions.
  • Strong active listening skills, communication and good writing skills.
  • Flexible team player with ability to collaborate and support others in the achievement of results.

What we would offer (a more detailed job description will be provided when invited to interview for the role):
  • You will work 37.5 hours per week, Mondays to Fridays.
  • You will be based out of 552 Adelaide St West in downtown Toronto.
  • A competitive annual salary of $45,000.
