We are Tokio Marine Canada – we aspire to be a Good Company – and you can trust us to always do the right thing.The opportunityReporting to the SVP of Claims and Corporate Counsel, we are seeking a Claims Operations Team Lead. As our new Claims Operations Team Lead, you will manage daily operations, coordinate projects, and provide leadership across the claims process. Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining relationships with third-party administrators (TPAs), collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring smooth operational support in claims handling, as well as play a vocal role in the continued development of our Claims system, continuously asking, “Where does Claims fit in, and what do you need from us?”This is a hybrid work opportunity with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week.What you will do:Facilitate smooth day-to-day operations within the claims department. You will oversee the Operations Assistant's work and simultaneously assign claim files and transactions, including the intake and acknowledgment of claims, review and approval of monthly claims, authorizing monthly transactions, and providing confirmation reports to Accounting. You will oversee the workflow from TPAs and ensure seamless integration into claims processes. You will field questions and inquiries, resolving operational issues promptly and effectively.Manage projects. You will assist with projects related to claims systems and data management system development and enhancements. You will collaborate with business analysts (BAs) to gather requirements, coordinate testing, and prioritize project tasks. You will take ownership of onboarding new programs, including TPA assignment, contract review, and testing the claims operational workflow.Nurture relationships. You will cultivate and maintain relationships with TPAs to ensure claims and programs are managed according to agreements and to ensure alignment on processes. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including IT teams and senior management, to address operational needs and priorities. As a liaison between the claims department and external partners, you will foster positive relationships and facilitate communication, including regular service-level reviews of panel adjusters and quarterly reporting requirements.Prioritize continuous improvement. You will identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency within the claims department. You will actively participate in initiatives aimed at improving functionality and work on identifying and implementing best practices and initiatives to enhance claims operations and streamline workflows.Who you are You may be at a senior level in claims operations, or you may be looking to move into a more senior role. You have claims experience working across multiple lines of business in the industry.The drive.
